Pulasan Road

Design, Reno & Build, Interior Styling; Landed home; 2021

Moving from a private apartment to a landed home, our clients wanted us to design an elegant but understated space that they would look forward to coming home to. From conceptualisation to execution, this project took a little over two months to complete.

Design & reno build scope

  • Major redesign and renovation of the kitchen area. We built and installed a kitchen island, panelled pillar, new countertops, and cabinetry. To keep with the modern feel of the home, the old storeroom door was also replaced with a black barn door.

  • To accommodate the client’s request for extra storage, we designed and converted one of the existing bedrooms into a walk-in closet. We also installed new doors for existing wardrobes and functional, full-length mirrors to break up the cabinetry.

  • We designed feature walls in the entryway and master bedroom. We incorporated wainscotting to add subtle elegance to the home.

  • We retiled the walls in the powder room. A black-and-white marble was chosen to break up the existing monotony of brown tones.

  • Additional cabinetry was installed in all bathrooms for storage.

Notes from our stylists

  • A neutral palette of blacks, whites, and greys with minimal gold accents was used throughout most rooms for a minimalist yet luxe look. A lighter colour scheme of creams and pinks was used in the daughter’s bedroom.

  • Textured wallpaper was employed in the dining area and along the first-floor staircase to create visual interest without using many small décor pieces. We also repainted the staircase railing black for contrast.

  • We used sheer curtains for a sophisticated, natural feel.

  • Light fixtures and pendant lighting were also installed in all rooms to add warmth to the otherwise cool palette.
