Design and build scope

  • Although the couple had decided to move because they wanted to be more centrally located, their new apartment was about the same size as their previous unit. We worked closely with the client to design functional built-ins to maximise storage that wouldn’t take away from floor space.

  • TV feature wall and built-in console

  • An extension of the built-in shoe cabinet, designed with a display niche. The laminate was chosen to complement the existing closet fronts provided by the developer.

Notes from our stylists

  • The client wanted a light and contemporary home, and requested we keep to a neutral colour palette. We used a largely cream-based palette with smaller accents of pale blue.

  • We brought in a new dining set and opted for a bench on the side with more traffic to create a more functional layout while still ensuring comfortable seating for everyone at the table.

  • We used minimal accessories to streamline clutter in such a small space. We also helped the client select wall and window treatments, as well as lighting options for a cohesive feel.

  • To vary the textures used as well as create the illusion of space, we opted for a variety of gloss finishes, which we peppered throughout the home. Contrasting the matte and gloss treatments within the same colour palette also imbued the space with sophistication.
